Welcome to “RowanLewisAfrica” Weblog!
“Mawuya! Karibu! Welcome!” I am so glad you have chosen to visit me! Tea?
In this site you will find a collection of my adventures as an African Safari Guide turned Missionary. I trust you will be entertained by my diverse views as a Lay-Preacher/Teacher, a Wilderness Emergency Medicine Instructor, Professional Hunter, and amatuer Wildlife Photographer.
Please follow my progressive journal of travels, experiences, peoples and thoughts as I wander through Africa and other continents, by clicking on My Recent Posts in the right hand margin. Also, various related topics of interest stand alone in the Pages section.
After walking down one of these game trails with me, please leave your footprints in the sand of the comments box, so that I can invite you to another Wilderness Wandering next time I am heading out.

The greatest wealth we own are the friendships we hold dearest to our hearts. -RPL. You make me a richer man for knowing you.

Rowan,
We think of you and your mission every day, and are praying the sacrifices so many individuals have made will bear fruit next week. For all that people complain about life’s complications on our side of the world, we know you know better. We are lucky to have you and your family in our life and can’t wait to catch up in July!!

Rowan,
I cannot help but reflect back on the life and times of David Livingstone whom I have studied as one of the great servant leaders of our time. Your adventures are becoming amazingly similar. As a hunter-conservationists Livingstone opened many regions within central Africa to big game hunting while serving as a medical missionary. I hope and pray God’s anointing on your life as you passionately pursue the person of Jesus Christ in your efforts to reach the people of the African continent. A similar transformation took place in the life of another avid outdoorsman, the apostle Peter, as he passionately pursued Christ, with humility, then became a Seasoned Man of God! Keep me posted so that I might continue to pray for your specific needs. Lord bless and keep those broad-head points sharp!

I also pray that the Lord Grant you wisdom, hope and faith in everything that you do. I believe everything has a purpose and calling in life and I also belive that with Jesu as your pillar all things will work together for good just as Paul says in Romans 8vs 28
Keep the spirit of Jesu burning inside you and try your best to inject it to everyone aswell.

Christmas 2008: Who would have thought a few months ago we would be where we are today? I am glad for the people of Zimbabwe that you have joined hands with MSF to provide urgently needed medical care. I am praying that the conditions that led to the medical problems will soon change. Medicine is a remarkable field, career, job, passion, gift, and force for the world. We are all united by our need for good health. Good luck and keep learning!

Rowan,
Our thoughts are with you, your team, and the people of Haiti. Your blog and messages remind us how much you are needed, and that the headlines in the news, or the lack of headlines, tell only part of the story. I am sure your dedication, calm presence, leadership, and amazing ability to connect with people are welcomed and appreciated by many.
All our best,
